With 5.3 million registered passengers, a new record was set in 2025. The CEO of lux-Airport Alexander Flassak confirmed the figure to the German news agency DPA.

Around 200,000 more passengers landed or took off at Findel compared with 2024, and the number is expected to continue to rise. This year, 5.7 million passengers are expected.

It is no longer unusual for people from border regions more than 100 kilometres away to travel to Findel, Alexander Flassak explained to DPA.

Over the next six years, lux-Airport plans to invest €1 billion to modernise and expand the airport.

The target for 2050 is 10 million passengers.
