On Wednesday, Météolux placed the country under a yellow alert for snow, and between one and five centimetres of snow were expected to blanket Luxembourg this Thursday morning, between 6am and 1pm.
The snow warning applies to areas above 300 metres altitude, which includes Luxembourg City at 402 metres above sea level. However, afternoon temperatures between 3°C and 5°C suggest that the snow is unlikely to stick around for long. Isolated snowfalls may return in the early evening.

Looking ahead, light snow showers are predicted for Friday and Saturday, with temperatures dipping below zero. Friday’s thermometer will range from -2°C to 1°C, while Saturday evening could see lows of -4°C. By Sunday and Monday, temperatures will rise sharply to around 10°C before plunging again next Tuesday.
Winter is far from over, so keep those gloves and hats at hand!
