
On average, people who visit Luxembourg for business trips stay for one-and-a-half days, the Democratic Party (DP) minister revealed at a press briefing on Thursday to mark Luxembourg Business Events Day.
The average business traveller spends €780 during their stay, Thill said.
Last year there were around 11,600 business events, such as congresses or conferences, representing an 11% increase compared to 2024. These attracted more than 1.3 million participants.
Thill went on to unveil a series of new initiatives aimed at consolidating Luxembourg's position as a destination for business.
The Luxembourg Convention Bureau has launched the Luxembourg Congress Ambassador Programme, calling upon experts, researchers, and opinion leaders established in Luxembourg to actively promote the country to the scientific, economic, and technical communities of the world.
A new national and international campaign was also unveiled in order to strengthen the country's visibility, accompanied by a promotional film showcasing Luxembourg's suitability as a business destination.
