According to initial reports, the 85-year-old pedestrian was hit by the vehicle near house number 21. Despite the arrival of emergency services, the man succumbed to his injuries on site.
Technical police officers were sent to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident, and the road was closed to traffic as authorities carried out their inquiries.
