Eighty candidates took to the stage over the weekend for the 2027 Luxembourg Song Contest auditions, with the jury focused on vocal ability, artistic identity, and stage presence.

Eighty candidates took to the stage, and on Monday all will be revealed on who has made it through to the next round.

The performances featured songs in French, Portuguese, Luxembourgish, Italian and English, in a wide variety of styles.

This time, however, the focus was squarely on the artists themselves.

Participants were allowed to perform cover songs, though many chose to present their own original material.

The jury focused on vocal ability, artistic identity and stage presence.

The songs themselves will only be chosen in a second phase.

In the final stage, songs and artists will be matched up and selected in a "pairing workshop".

The artists who progress to the next round will be invited to submit their own songs.

Submissions will be accepted until 29 October, and around 300 songs have already come in.

The candidates who have made it through to the next round will be announced on Monday.
