PoliceDrink driving, theft, and fights reported on Friday night

RTL Today
The police had quite the eventful start to the weekend.

Various quarrels were reported to the police, but most of them had already been cleared up before the officers even arrived. However, one particular incident where two people broke into a fight in the tram went less smoothly, as one of the men was found to be intoxicated. He was then placed under arrest.

The police also received various reports of theft. On Friday afternoon at around 4.30 pm, two men snatched a gold necklace from a man’s neck in rue Beck in Luxembourg City and ran away with it. The police have drawn up an investigation, but so far the perpetrators have not been caught.

Around 1.30 am on Saturday morning, another man, this time in Steinsel, had his watch stolen by three unknown perpetrators. An investigation was also put together in this case.

At 3 am, the Capellen police noticed a vehicle driving suspiciously slow and often braking too hard. During the check, the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and could not show a valid insurance policy for his car. As a result, his driving licence was confiscated.

Shortly before 5 am, another driver was checked because he had driven through a red light in Remich. Here, too, the alcohol test was positive and the driver’s licence was confiscated.
