The Administration of Public Buildings has taken the decision to close the "Dräi Eechelen" park to the public after a huge amount of waste and litter was removed on a daily basis - up to 700kg a day.
The police were also forced to intervene on multiple occasions, most recently after a fight broke out last weekend.
The authorities at the Ministry of Public Works have decided the site is no longer safe in accordance with hygiene measures, and will close the site from 17 July until further notice.
The Mudam and fortress museums will remain accessible to the public.
Police will carry out regular checks on the site.
