The Democratic Party's (DP) steering committee has unanimously nominated 38-year-old Max Lehnen to replace Georges Kohn on the State Council. At its meeting on 18 June, the DP voted unanimously to back Lehnen's candidacy.
A lawyer and attorney, he is an associate at the Lentz-Lehnen law firm and has built up substantial experience in labour and social law, among other areas, while also sitting on the municipal council in Sanem.
DP president Carole Hartmann said Lehnen was not only a candidate with the professional credentials for the role. Through his volunteer involvement in his community and in local sport, she added, he had also shown that he was a team player.
The steering committee is the highest body of the DP, where the most pressing political questions are debated and major decisions are taken within the party.
