According to updates posted by both French rail operator SNCF and Luxembourg national railway company CFL, passengers travelling by train via Bettembourg towards Luxembourg City should expect delays.

The SNCF stated on its website that passengers travelling from Metz to Luxembourg City on Monday morning should expect delays of 15–30 minutes. The disruption was caused by a signalling fault in Bettembourg.

According to the SNCF, the issue was detected at 6.55am, with services expected to return to normal at around 9am.

The CFL, however, did not list the incident in the disruption section of its website. According to that page, traffic across the entire network was running without problems. It was only by checking individual train timetables that passengers could see there had been a technical fault and delays.

The CFL specified in the timetables that the problem had occurred between Bettembourg and Berchem. It also noted that the 6.20am train from Nancy to Luxembourg City had been cancelled altogether.

The national railway company warned of delays on all lines running via Bettembourg, namely Luxembourg–Metz and Luxembourg–Esch–Rodange. The operator later stated that the cause of the disruption had been resolved, but that further delays and cancellations could still occur.
