LuxProvideDavid Papiah appointed CEO of Luxembourg supercomputer firm

Papiah, a 51-year-old French native, replaces Roger Lampach as the CEO of LuxProvide, which runs Luxembourg's national supercomputer MeluXina.

LuxProvide is a high-performance computing company which hosts Luxembourg’s national supercomputer, MeluXina.

On 2 November, the Bissen-based company appointed Papiah as their new chief executive.

Papiah has a background in data analytics and artificial intelligence and has previously worked at computing giants Fujitsu and IBM.

“Research brings innovations that are vital to make our world and societies more sustainable for a better future,” said Papiah.

“At LuxProvide, with [the] MeluXina supercomputer, we aim at being the technology backbone to contribute to the digital transformation of society and to reinforce Luxembourg’s position at the forefront of innovation for years to come,” he added.

MeluXina is run by LuxProvide under the auspices of the Ministry of State and Ministry of the Economy. It is ranked as one of the top 50 supercomputers in the world. Its services are available to start-ups, SMEs and larger companies as well as to academia and research organisations.
