Tensions are running high within the municipal administration of Contern, with strained relations between some staff members, the municipal executive board (Schäfferot), and the mayor. Allegations of bullying have further complicated the situation.
In response, the local chapters of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) and the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV), which hold the majority in the municipality, issued a press release on Thursday evening. They announced that the municipal executive board has commissioned an independent study aimed at promoting modern working structures. The initiative seeks to address the expectations of both the public and municipal employees.
The project received unanimous support from the municipal council. A task force will be established to implement the study’s recommendations, with a primary focus on easing tensions and restoring a positive working environment for staff.
