Following three years of negotiations and two decades of discussions, a breakthrough has been achieved as the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL), the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), and the employers’ organisation FEDIL Catering jointly announce the signing of a sector-wide collective agreement.

Key provisions of the agreement include linear salary increments for the next two years for employees earning below the qualified minimum wage, along with additional compensation for working on Sundays and public holidays. Additionally, employers now have the flexibility to establish reference periods of up to one year for working hours, a measure specifically aimed at staff working in structures that follow school holidays.

All in all, this new three-year collective agreement affects more than 3,000 employees.
