Fabio Secci, the Director General of the Caisse Médico-Complémentaire Mutualiste (CMCM), has distanced himself from the statement that the fund has taken active steps to obtain vaccines against the coronavirus.
Secci specified that the first serious proposal for the purchase of a vaccine was made on Thursday. CMCM officials immediately forwarded it to the Ministry of Health, where it became clear that the offer did not really exist.
According to the CMCM’s director general, organising alternative channels in parallel to the state would be reprehensible.
In his opinion, the state must retain the leadership role, both in the purchase of vaccines and in carrying out the vaccinations themselves.
Only in this way can the government’s vaccination strategy, developed by specialists, be respected.
