
Flight CV 6236 was scheduled to fly from Miami to Amsterdam early Monday morning and had to divert to an airport in Ireland. The pilot reported a “squawk code 7700", a general emergency, at around 6.25am on Monday morning.
According to Cargolux, the fire alarm on the main deck was triggered mid-flight.
The cargo plane later landed safely at Shannon Airport and the crew were evacuated onto the runway via the emergency chute. None of the three employees were injured.
No traces of fire were found on board and the three crew members were unharmed. Airport firefighters are currently moving the aircraft off the runway. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-400ERF, has been in service for 17 years.
