The Luxembourg police are tackling a string of recent burglaries and thefts, with suspects apprehended in some cases and still on the run in others.

In Frisange, burglars might not have chosen the best hiding place after breaking into a garage and a vehicle. Police were alerted and despatched a patrol to the scene.

Upon inspecting the garage, officers discovered the two individuals still hiding inside. A search revealed stolen items from both the vehicle and the garage, as well as a small quantity of drugs.

One of the suspects was already known to law enforcement, and their personal details were recorded.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a business located on Place des Sacrifiés 1940-1945 in Esch-sur-Alzette was targeted. Preliminary reports suggest that the suspects gained entry through a sliding door. An investigation is currently underway.

Break-in attempt foiled in Hosingen

On Thursday morning, a group of burglars attempted to break into a single-family home in the “Um Knupp” area of Hosingen. However, they were interrupted by the resident and fled the scene.

Police launched a manhunt and successfully apprehended three suspects. Several tools commonly used for break-ins were seized from their vehicle.

Following orders from the public prosecutor’s office, the suspects were arrested and presented to an examining magistrate on Friday morning.

Theft in Kirchberg

In a separate incident on Friday afternoon, an unknown thief stole a mobile phone from a victim on Avenue J.-F. Kennedy in Kirchberg. The suspect snatched the device from the victim’s hand and fled the scene. Despite a manhunt, the culprit remains at large, and an investigation has been initiated.
