After taking over the Arnold Kontz garage, the Belgian Louyet group is now set to establish itself in southern Luxembourg, according to information obtained by RTL.
The BMW Muzzolini garage did not respond to RTL’s requests for comment last week, but according to several well-informed sources, the Louyet group is preparing to take over the Esch-sur-Alzette-based company. For six decades, Muzzolini has been a well-known address in Esch-sur-Alzette, and has served as a BMW dealer since the 1970s. The family-run business moved into its new premises in the Monkeler industrial zone in 2018.
According to L’Essentiel, the Swedish group Bilia, which has already taken over BMW Kontz in Luxembourg City and BMW Schmitz in Mersch, was also interested in acquiring Muzzolini.
However, the dealership will now come under Belgian ownership. The Louyet group, which owns around 50 dealerships in Belgium, France, and Luxembourg, will take over operations in Esch. In Luxembourg, the group recently acquired the activities of Arnold Kontz, including Land Rover and Jaguar.
Further details have yet to be released.
