Last year in June, the peace court began pursuing litigation in a case surrounding the church fund, the Hollerich church factory, and the non-profit organisation "Saint Pierre et Paul". In the end, five preliminary questions were retained and passed on to the constitutional court.
The main point concerned the rent of four buildings, which initially belonged to the church factory, but were then passed over to the fund. It was therefore questioned whether an expropriation took place. The umbrella organisation SYFEL plead that this was the case.
A verdict has now been passed down and it was decided that the church fund is constitutional, meaning that the trial surrounding called-up rents can continue.
Upon enquiry from our colleagues at RTL, auxiliary bishop Leo Wagener was satisfied with the court ruling.
