The Professional Syndicate of the Luxembourg Army (SPAL) has addressed demands to the CSV-DP coalition to include their proposed changes in the ongoing negotiations. They listed eleven points the union would like to see the new government include in a coalition agreement, including the creation of an army ministry and the appointment of an independent commissioner to act as a go-between for the government and the Luxembourg army.
The syndicate also called for more consistent recruitment pushes to counter staff shortages and emphasised their demand for the assessment system to be abolished, citing Article 32 of the new Armed Forces Act. Their argument highlights the fact that no such system exists across the entirety of the civil service.
