Outpatient careAMMD calls on MPs to block bill on outpatient care

RTL Today
The Association of Doctors and Dentists (AMMD) in a press release calls on MPs to block what they consider a "failed" law on outpatient care, which is up for vote in the Chamber of Deputies next week.

The legislation in question seeks to enable certain outpatient services, such as dialysis, non-surgical interventions, and MRIs, to be offered outside of regular hospitals.

Since the state council criticised several aspects of the text, Minister of Health Paulette Lenert was forced to review and amend it. The council’s opinion on the new version is still pending.

The AMMD has now called on MPs to block this “failed” legislation so that constructive discussions can be held with representatives from the sectors affected by the proposed changes. The Association further accuses the administration of falling into activist behaviour and wanting to push through a text that raises “grave questions under constitutional law”.

The AMMD concludes the statement by warning that the law violates both patients and the healthcare system.
