Minister for Mobility and Public Works Yuriko Backes presented a proposal for an additional €6.5 million to finalise Boulevard Kockelscheuer and Boulevard Raiffeisen.
The Minister attributed the 5.9% budget overrun to three primary factors: the integration of the tram system into the project, the construction of a cycle path and pavements to promote sustainable mobility, and the increase in the VAT rate from 15% to 17%.
It is worth noting that the original budget proposal, which earmarked €73 million for the development of the Raiffeisen and Kockelscheuer boulevards, was approved 14 years ago.
