During the holiday season, when many people are away, burglaries tend to rise, and the police have once again issued a warning about break-ins, particularly those involving the use of fine adhesive threads.
In recent days, such cases have been reported. Burglars enter apartment buildings and place very thin sticky threads, which are barely visible, on the bottom corner of flat doors. This technique allows them to determine whether residents are home.
If the door is opened, the threads break. But if they remain intact, it may suggest that no one has entered or left, indicating the property might be unoccupied, which in return may prompt a break-in.
The police warn that if you notice such a thread on your door, you should immediately call 113.
