The Luxembourg police and emergency responders from the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) successfully intervened in a suicide attempt near the Kirchberg Emergency Accommodation Facility (SHUK) on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities were alerted to the situation on Rue Carlo Hemmer, where officers located and engaged with the distressed individual.
Through immediate crisis intervention, police negotiators persuaded the person against taking harmful action. CGDIS paramedics then provided medical care and transported the individual to hospital for further evaluation.
RTL verified the incident through official police confirmation after an eyewitness had sent a photo of the intervention to the editorial team.
