A three-year-old's arrival in Saeul marked a population milestone for the municipality and the entire Grand Duchy.

The Grand Duchy no longer has any municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants. The latest to do so, Saeul, announced on Wednesday that it has welcomed its 1,000th inhabitant.

The municipality explained that a family recently moved to Saeul, and their three-year-old son became the town's 1,000th resident.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC), 980 people lived in Saeul on 1 January 2024. Saeul was the last of the Grand Duchy's 100 municipalities to count fewer than 1,000 inhabitants.
