Motorists travelling on the A3 towards France saw themselves confronted with a rather unusual roadblock on Saturday afternoon when a cow was spotted walking along the lanes.
Part of the A3 motorway towards France was closed on Saturday afternoon due to a cow on the road, leading to significant traffic congestion.
According to our colleagues from RTL Infos, the section between Livange and Croix de Bettembourg was shut down temporarily to allow for the cow's removal. Traffic has since been flowing again.

Traffic was disrupted in both directions, as evident by the camera footage of the Motorway Traffic Control and Information Centre (CITA). There were heavy traffic jams towards France, although conditions have improved on the stretch towards Luxembourg City. Motorists are still advised to avoid the area if possible.

Ongoing construction work in the area had already been affecting traffic flow, and the presence of the cow further exacerbated the situation.
On social media, some drivers claim to have been stuck in traffic for almost an hour. Some users also claim that the motorway towards Luxembourg City has been closed, but this information has not yet been confirmed.
The Luxembourg police did not yet respond to requests for comments.
