While no cases of bird flu have been reported in Luxembourg so far, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration remains cautious and reminds the public of precautionary measures in place.

On Wednesday, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) released a statement reminding people of precautionary measures that are in place to prevent the spread of bird flu in the Grand Duchy.

These measures include provisions stipulating that poultry must only be fed indoors and that contact with wild birds should be avoided as much as possible. To this end, nets may be set up in outdoor areas.

Additionally, anyone coming across a wild animal that is dead or sick is asked to report it to ALVA.

The consumption of poultry or eggs does not pose a risk to humans.
