A routine patrol in Luxembourg City escalated on Friday night when officers were threatened by a knife-wielding suspect, leading to an arrest.

On Friday night, police officers on patrol in Luxembourg City encountered an individual behaving suspiciously. When approached, the person threatened the officers with a switchblade and issued death threats.

The suspect was promptly taken into custody, and a body search revealed drugs in their possession. A breathalyser test conducted at the scene returned a positive result. Following the arrest, the public prosecutor's office ordered the individual to remain in custody, and they are set to appear before an examining magistrate on Saturday. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Presumed drug dealer apprehended

In a separate incident early Saturday morning, two individuals were arrested following a suspected drug deal observed by police. Upon noticing the officers, the alleged dealer attempted to flee but was quickly located hiding in a bush. A search uncovered a significant quantity of drugs and a large sum of cash, both of which were seized.

The police also detained the presumed buyer, bringing both individuals to the station. They will be presented to an examining magistrate on Saturday.
