As Donald Trump prepares to re-enter the White House, former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker suggested that Europe will need to brace for a shift in US priorities.

Former Luxembourg Prime Minister and former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker commented on the comeback of US President-elect Donald Trump, stating that Europe is unlikely to be a top priority for the incoming administration.

In an interview with our colleagues from RTL Radio, Juncker emphasised that while the choice of US voters must be respected, the outcome diverges from what many Europeans had hoped for.

Reflecting on Trump's "America First" agenda, Juncker suggested that the administration will likely prioritise domestic policies over international ones. In foreign affairs, he noted, the focus is expected to centre primarily on China.

Juncker further stated that Europe should respond by concentrating on its own strengths, both in global politics and the world economy.
