A teenager who recently escaped from the Dreiborn youth detention centre was apprehended Tuesday night while attempting to break into a car in Wasserbillig.

The police received reports that two individuals had attempted to break into a car in Wasserbillig shortly before 1am. Eyewitnesses intervened, managing to confine one of the suspects inside the vehicle until law enforcement arrived. The second suspect fled the scene.

Upon further investigation at the police station, authorities discovered that the detained individual had recently escaped from the youth detention centre in Dreiborn, known as the Security Unit (UniSec). Following the incident, the public prosecutor's office was informed and decided to return the adolescent to UniSec.
