
Luxembourg mourns the passing of distinguished diplomat and economist Guy de Muyser, whose multifaceted career spanned roles as a lawyer, Court Marshall to Grand Duke Jean, ambassador, and president of Neumunster Abbey, leaving behind a legacy of public service and dedication.
News broke on Monday that Luxembourg diplomat and economist Guy de Muyser has died at the age of 98. In his long and diverse career, de Muyser worked, among other things, as a lawyer, a Court Marshall for Grand Duke Jean for 12 years, and an ambassador in Moscow and Brussels on behalf of NATO.
Between 2004 and 2011, de Muyser was also President of Neumunster Abbey.
He was the father of three children, including the lawyer, diplomat, and politician Alain de Muyser, and Isabelle de Muyser, head of logistics at the United Nations since 2007.
