A massive fire erupted at a cosmetics manufacturer's warehouse in a Bettembourg industrial zone on Tuesday night, prompting a large-scale emergency response and advisories for nearby residents to keep windows closed due to heavy smoke.
A large fire broke out at an industrial site in Bettembourg on Tuesday night, requiring an extensive operation by several fire brigades. The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) received reports of the blaze shortly after 10pm. The fire is said to have occurred at a cosmetics manufacturer in the local industrial zone known as 'Wolser-Ouest'.

When the brigades arrived on the scene, the entire warehouse was already in flames. Around 60 firefighters from seven different emergency response centres, accompanied by a chemical hazard team due to the nature of the location, were dispatched to the site to extinguish the flames.
Residents in Bettembourg, Dudelange, and Hellange were advised to keep their windows closed due to the large amount of smoke triggered by the fire. However, the CGDIS said there was no major health hazard according to their analysis.
Further incidents
Two other fires were also reported to the emergency services on Tuesday night. In Vichten, a piece of agricultural equipment caught fire, while a vegetation fire was reported between Koetschette and Eschette.
