Russian citizens residing in Luxembourg also participated in Russia's recent presidential elections, which, according to official reports, were decisively won by the incumbent president.
The Russian embassy in Luxembourg reported a turnout of 877 voters. This figure surpasses the voter turnout in cities like Oslo, Milan, or Lisbon, i.e., cities home to substantial Russian communities.
According to the vote abroad volunteer group, President Putin garnered only 13% of all votes cast by Russians in Luxembourg. In contrast, the official election committee recorded a higher figure of 42% in favour of Vladimir Putin in the Grand Duchy.
Upon leaving the embassy in Beggen, it was observed by volunteers monitoring the Russian elections abroad that 35% of voters declined to disclose their voting preference.
According to data compiled by the vote abroad collective, when considering the collective votes of approximately 70,000 Russian citizens residing abroad, the overall support for Putin stands at 15%.
