Over the course of Friday night, the police encountered multiple instances of drivers operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the surrender of six driving licences.

One incident occurred on the N12 between Tuntange and Saeul, where a driver veered off the road and into a ditch, sustaining minor injuries. Emergency services from Redange-sur-Attert and Tuntange attended to the injured driver, who subsequently tested positive for alcohol, leading to the confiscation of their driving licence.

In Luxembourg City, police intercepted an intoxicated driver on Rue du Commerce at around 10.45pm, prompting the confiscation of their driving licence.

During a speed check on Route d'Arlon in Strassen at approximately 2am, another driver was stopped for speeding without their headlights on. Subsequent alcohol testing led to the confiscation of their driving licence.

At around 3am, a driver on the A13 motorway towards Esch-sur-Alzette drew attention for their erratic driving style. However, this motorist refused to take an alcohol test, which meant that their driving licence was revoked, and a provisional driving ban was imposed.

Shortly after 3am, police responded to an accident on Rue de Trevires in Luxembourg City, where a car had collided with two parked vehicles, causing one to be propelled into a front garden wall. The driver abandoned the severely damaged vehicle on the pavement.

Following a search operation, the vehicle owner and two others were located. The public prosecutor's office ordered an investigation into the accident's responsible driver, with two individuals surrendering their driving licences due to positive alcohol tests, resulting in provisional driving bans.

An hour later, police stopped another driver for speeding on Rue du 1er Mai in Belval. In this case too, the officers immediately realised that the driver was inebriated. Subsequent testing revealed that the driver exceeded the permissible alcohol limit, resulting in the surrender of their driving licence.

At around 5.30am, a patrol on Route d'Esch in Luxembourg City intercepted another driver due to their concerning driving style. Similar to previous incidents, alcohol testing confirmed impairment, although the blood alcohol level was below the legal threshold of 1.2‰.
