For several days, water has inundated the N37 near the Z.A.R.E. ouest regional activity centre, rendering the road impassable and disrupting access to the motorway.

In response to enquiries from our colleagues at RTL.lu, the Bridges and Roads Authority elucidated the underlying issue. A blocked pipe beneath the road’s lowest point prevents water drainage during rainfall. The issue has only recently been identified, according to the Authority. Once the water recedes and the road clears, the Authority intends to undertake necessary repairs on the obstructed pipe. Simultaneously, maintenance work is slated for the retention basin of surrounding roads.

The director of the Bridges and Roads Authority affirmed that the proposed repairs would start as soon as possible, with completion expected within a two-week timeframe.
