The farmers' protests in France and Belgium continue to have an impact on supermarkets in Luxembourg, with shelves at Delhaize and Lidl still noticeably empty as of Saturday.
The blockade of distribution centres across France, Belgium, and even Germany continues to have repercussions on supermarkets in Luxembourg. Over the weekend, the scarcity of fresh produce persisted, particularly evident at Delhaize and Lidl outlets in Pommerloch, near the Belgian border.
"Due to a blockade at our distribution centre and the general farmers' protests, some products are not available in our shop. We are doing our utmost to resolve this situation as quickly as possible," read signs in some Lidl shop aisles.
Earlier this week, Lidl spokesman Julien Wathieu confirmed that there were major shortages of fresh produce in Lidl shops.
