Luxembourg is set to experience strong wind gusts on Wednesday, prompting a yellow weather alert across the country.

While the cold weather takes a back seat, MétéoLux has issued a cautionary alert effective from 5am to 4pm.

The forecast indicates high south-western winds, with gusts ranging from 65 to 80 km/h, and potentially even higher in localised areas. This atmospheric condition is attributed to a low-pressure system positioned "between Iceland and Ireland."

Accompanying the wind gusts will be cloudy skies with episodes of rain and drizzle, though the precipitation is expected to be relatively light. Subsequently, the weather is predicted to transition to drier and clearer conditions throughout the day. Afternoon temperatures are anticipated to hover between 10 and 12°C.

It is worth noting that the wind alert on Wednesday does not extend to the French and Belgian border regions.
