A motorist was pulled over on Friday night after speeding on the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, overtaking a police car in the process.

The police quickly caught up to the driver, who was asked to take a breathalyser test.

The test was positive, prompting the immediate withdrawal of the driver's licence. The driver then refused to sign the official report and was taken to hospital for a blood test.

Motorist attempts to evade police checkpoint in Stegen

In a separate incident at approximately 5am on Saturday morning, another motorist attempted to evade a police checkpoint in Stegen. Ignoring signals to stop, the driver sped away, initiating a pursuit that concluded with them being pulled over in Schieren.

The driver was asked to take a breathalyser test, resulting in the withdrawal of their licence. The police issued a penalty notice in response to the attempted evasion at the checkpoint in Stegen.
