'No to begging ban'Vandalism at home of Interior Minister Léon Gloden

RTL Today
Léon Gloden issued a statement through social media that his home in Grevenmacher had been vandalised by graffiti.

The CSV minister confirmed to RTL that the words “No to the begging ban” were scrawled in huge red letters across a wall on his home on Friday night. He stated that the tyres of his son’s car had also been slashed.

According to Gloden, whose ministry includes jurisdiction over the country’s police force, democrats state their position through argument, not these kinds of actions.

He stated that he would not change his opinion or his political behaviour under any circumstances. The minister has filed a complaint through the police.

One of Gloden’s first political actions as the new Minister of the Interior was the implementation of a begging ban, a measure not without controversy.
