Police have arrested four individuals in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents in the area around Esch-sur-Alzette.

On Saturday morning, the Grand Ducal police launched a manhunt following a robbery at a petrol station in Esch-Lankelz. According to reports, a vehicle used by the perpetrators was later discovered by officers in Lallange. A search revealed the stolen items - in this instance, a large quantity of alcohol - as well as food and number plates recovered from other vehicles. The car in question had also been reported as stolen.

All four occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested and taken into custody. It transpired that three of the four had been involved in other shoplifting incidents recently reported in Schifflange, Frisange, Lallange, Bascharage and Differdange.

These three suspects were brought before magistrates, while the fourth was charged for an offence involving narcotics.
