The smoke of screeching tires, smell of gasoline and sight of beautifully modified cars: The International Motor Show Luxembourg welcomed well over 30,000 visitors at LuxExpo this weekend.

“Our aim was to attract between 30,000-50,000 people. In the end well over 30,000 visitors attended,” says Christian Jupsin, general director of organiser Pole Position. The event was entirely geared towards cars and motorcycles, an show which the organisers hope to bring to Luxembourg every two years from now on.

The poster for the 24th edition of the Motor Show highlighted two flagship exhibitions: The 75th anniversary of Porsche and the 120th anniversary of Harley-Davidson. But there was more: The Formula 1 car of Max Verstappen, three-time world champion, the BMW M4 GT3 WRT of Valentino Rossi, nine-time motorcycle world champion, the possibility of speaking with Dylan Pereira, the Luxembourg driver who won the 2022 Porsche Supercup, stunt shows, drifting, X-cars and more.

Slowed down in 2021 due to Covid-19 and forced to abandon the adventure in 2022, Pole Position was able to organise the event this time as planned, “favouring quality over quantity”, says Jupsin.

With regards to improvements, Jupsin says catering must be improved, as visitors spent more than an hour this weekend to queue for a burger or pita, far away from the show itself.
