The Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Development Cooperation Directorate have issued a joint statement to announce that Luxembourg will donate €2.5 million for humanitarian support in Gaza following the escalation of the Israel and Hamas conflict: “Through these contributions, the Grand Duchy is supporting the efforts of the international humanitarian community in Gaza, particularly in the areas of emergency shelter, food aid and psychological support, as well as health and education.”

The aid will be distributed to several humanitarian organisations active in the Gaza Strip, including the International Red Cross and the UN World Food Programme, among others.

In addition to contributions for humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, the Luxembourg NGOs Handicap International Luxembourg and Caritas Luxembourg will each receive €100,000 to support their humanitarian operations in Lebanon and the West Bank, respectively.
