While Luxembourg did not achieve the best results in all the categories, the country’s overall score gave it the first place in this ranking. However, Luxembourg does share the top spot with the Netherlands, after both countries received a 200.1 result.

Of all the countries in the ranking Luxembourg has the highest purchasing power, meaning that a salary here allows citizens to buy the most goods and services. It scored a 133.2.

When it comes to healthcare only Taiwan (36th in the ranking) and South Korea (39th in the ranking) achieved better results than the Netherlands.

They also achieved a higher security index, and the Dutch spend less time commuting from their home to their workplace than Luxembourgers, which slightly affects the results.

Our neighbouring countries did not make the Top 10. Germany ranks in 12th position, Belgium in 26th and France makes it into the Top 30.

Closing the ranking are countries such as Iran, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and Nigeria. These countries have the lowest quality of life, according to Numbeo.
