Avenue de la Liberté, one of Luxembourg City's major arteries, is scheduled for a week of nighty closures affecting the stretch between Rue Jean Origer and Place de la Gare from the night of 2 October until the early morning of 7 October 2023 due to essential roadworks.
The specific times of closure will be from 10pm to 5am, starting at 10pm on Monday, 2 October, and first reopening at 5am on Tuesday, 3 October. This pattern will repeat each night, concluding at 5am on Saturday, 7 October. Motorists and commuters should be prepared for these disruptions and plan their journeys accordingly.
A detour route has been planned to mitigate the impact of the closure. Motorised traffic will be rerouted along Rue Jean Origer and Rue de Bonnevoie, leading to Rocade de Bonnevoie (B3) and the Pénétrante Sud.
The municipal traffic department is taking measures to inform and guide motorists during this period. Comprehensive signage will be installed to direct traffic along the detour route, ensuring that the disruptions are managed efficiently and safely.
