In a bid to address ongoing issues of dumping wages in the construction sector, the Left Party ('déi Lénk') has urged the state to take over the Manuel Cardoso company and transform it into the first publicly owned construction firm.

With approximately 100 employees and the necessary machinery and equipment already in place, the company can serve as a solid foundation for this proposed initiative, the opposition party argues.

The Left Party has long been vocal about the need to curb "irresponsible" business practices in the construction industry and establishing a public construction company has been a central demand. By acquiring an existing company like Manuel Cardoso, which is feared to declare bankruptcy, the party contends that the state swiftly achieve this goal without the need to create an entirely new entity from scratch.
