After evacuating 80 of its clients from the wildfires on the Greek island of Rhodes, Luxair has set up a crisis task force to offer free cancellations and alternative bookings to people affected by the disaster.
Since a dozen hotels affected by the fires were housing Luxair clients, the airline decided on Saturday to put together a crisis task force to monitor and respond to ongoing developments.
According to a statement by the airline, all 80 Luxair customers were either evacuated from the island and returned to Luxembourg on Sunday and Monday, or were offered to stay at an alternative accommodation.
Luxair now also offers free cancellations to people who were scheduled to fly to Rhodes on Thursday. Clients who booked a package holiday, to be taken between 30 July and 5 August, are eligible for alternative offers and a €100-reduction per adult. If no alternative can be offered, people will receive a voucher for future travel.
People who booked a flight to Rhodes but whose hotels are not directly affected by the fires can change their booking until 29 July. They will also receive a voucher if no alternative holiday can be found.
