The Lycée Michel Rodange went into a lockdown on Thursday afternoon after police and emergency services were dispatched to investigate a suspicious substance, which was later confirmed to be chalk.
Witnesses told RTL that pupils at the LMRL, situated at the Campus Geesseknäppchen in southern Luxembourg City, were told not to leave premises until further notice following the discovery of a suspicious substance in the building.

Teams of police were dispatched to the school on boulevard Pierre Dupong following the alert, accompanied by the emergency services. RTL sources indicate a sniffer dog was also sent to the school.
The CGDIS said an envelope containing an "unknown substance" had been located in a boys' bathroom. Four adults were said to be in "preventative isolation" for a short time on Thursday afternoon. No pupils were affected. As no one had come into direct contact with the substance, the lockdown was lifted.
Two emergency crew members equipped with masks and protective clothing were pictured at the school, which was locked down for nearly an hour after classes ended. An ambulance and several CGDIS intervention vehicles were also located at the school.
Pupils eventually were permitted to leave the premises at 2.45pm, some 45 minutes after the final bell.
Samples of the substance were sent to a lab for further analysis, the police confirmed. On Thursday, it was announced that the substance turned out to be chalk.
