Two men are currently on trial in Luxembourg for creating, collecting, and distributing child pornographic material over a period of several years. One of both defendants is a former volleyball and football coach who is alleged to have filmed girls while they were in the changing rooms and showers.
22 victims have come forward in the case. Relevant events are said to have taken place between 2011 and 2016 and were first brought to the attention of Luxembourgish authorities by Interpol.
A home search of one of the defendants was thus carried out in 2018. Police found a large collection of secret pornographic and child pornographic images. Furthermore, the suspect had secretly filmed his wife and himself having intercourse, which he sought to explain with marital problems.
Among the thousands of videos and images found on the man's computer was material with Luxembourgish audio. A link to the second defendant was established when authorities analysed content that seemed to have been made in a common changing room and shower. A home search of the former volleyball and football coach was eventually carried out in 2020.
The search brought to light that the trainer had not only filmed his own athletes, but also did the same to other players during away games. He further stole digital images of an under-aged girl from his neighbour's house and distributed the material online.

During the beginning of the trial, the judge observed that the defendants still seem incapable or unwilling to recognise the gravity of the situation. One of them has been diagnosed with pedophilic disorder.
