The latest police reports reveal that several drink drivers were caught over the weekend, with six licenses being revoked in the span of just a few hours.
At 8.45pm on Sunday, a motorist driving on Rue de Hamm in the capital collided with a car stationed at the side of the street. The driver's alcohol test came back positive, which is why his license was provisionally revoked.
Shortly after midnight, police were alerted to a reckless motorist in Colpach-Haut. Officers caught up with the man soon after and found that he was also drunk. They provisionally revoked his license.
Around 4.25am on Monday, police were alerted to another reckless driver, this time on the N15 between Ettelbruck and Niederfeulen. A patrol located the motorist in question at a bus stop on Rue de Bastogne in Niederfeulen soon after. The driver's alcohol test came back positive and officers provisionally revoked the man's license.
Routine alcohol checks
The prosecutors office also commissioned three routine alcohol checks during the weekend, which police carried out in Ettelbruck, Diekirch, and Reisdorf between 2pm and 7.15pm on Sunday.
Officers stopped a total of 1,370 motorists, out of whom eleven tested positive for alcohol. Three driving licenses were revoked at the scene.
