Luxembourg's Minister of Energy Claude Turmes expressed his concern in an RTL interview after a crack was discovered in a nuclear reactor in the Cattenom power plant.
Cracks were discovered in two nuclear reactors in France, including in Cattenom. According to the French Agency for Nuclear Safety (ASN), the cracks are significant and should not be neglected. The affected parts have been exchanged, according to a press release from ASN.
Turmes was disappointed not to have been informed by the official side from France. He will seek a telephone conversation with his French counterpart and would also like to submit the Luxembourg government's demands in writing.
All the reactors at Cattenom should now be checked for this problem, he said. Luxembourg should also be informed about incidents and get access to the reports, according to the energy minister.
