The Minister of Housing is hosting a conference on Wednesday to discuss possible solutions to Luxembourg's ongoing housing crisis.

Affordable housing remains a top concern for Luxembourg residents. The fact that inflation has hit real estate sales, the construction sector and real estate loans does not act in favour of fixing the issue.

Henri Kox, the Minister of Housing, knows the urgency in responding to it - especially in an election year  - but remains bogged down in the reforms launched by his government, such as that of the rental lease.

The ministry is hosting a national housing conference on Wednesday, taking place from 9am onwards at the Neumünster Abbey Cultural Centre. A similar conference was held last year.

Fact Check: Will the new rent and lease law limit excessive tendencies?

The exchange brings together various actors from the sector, including local authorities, public developers, associations dedicated to access to housing as well as housing advisors.

After the presentation of the National Affordable Housing Strategy by Kox, two debates will be held. The first deals with the challenges of the private housing marketing, and the second with creating and managing 10,000 affordable dwellings in Luxembourg.
