A fresh wave of scam SMS are targeting consumers in Luxembourg, purporting to be from banks, streaming services, couriers or even local authorities.
The Grand Ducal police have issued a new warning against further scam text messages posing as banks, streaming services and couriers.
The texts usually contain links and demands for users to input personal data such as bank details, which then enable scammers to access and steal the recipient's money. Such scams are known as "smishing", according to the police warning.
Police advise recipients to avoid clicking on these links, and remind consumers to never hand over their credit card details unless they are absolutely certain of the sender's credentials.
